# AIA Simulation in Desktop App

To download the Desktop application onto your computer, follow the instructions here:

Access the link here: [**https://foretellreality.com/download-foretell/**](https://foretellreality.com/download-foretell/)

Click the link to "Download Foretell Reality to your Desktop", this will begin downloading a Launcher app. Once the Launcher application is downloaded, find it in your Downloads folder and double click on it.

The first time you run this Launcher it will download the latest version of Foretell Reality Group. Going forward, new versions of Foretell will automatically get downloaded by this launcher.

Once you have downloaded the application and opened it, the next step is to log in using your login credentials. Once you have typed in a Client Code, Username, and Password, click on the **"Log in"** button. If you select the **"Remember Me"** checkbox, the next time you open the application the information will already be filled in.

Logging in will open a new page that displays the available AI simulations. If at the top of your window there is both a "Meetings" tab and an "AI Simulations" tab, select the **"AI Simulations"** tab to see the available AI simulations.

The first row is the **"Simulation Library"** that shows you any simulations you can practice at will as many times as you want. After these simulations are over, you can choose whether to upload the transcript and video to our servers or not.

The second row shows you your **"Assigned Simulations"** that are tied to an assignment given to you in one of your courses. You will typically have a limited number of attempts, and your attempts will be automatically uploaded to our servers.

Click one of the listed AI simulations to select it. In the window that pops up click on the **"Join"** button to load the simulation environment. If you select an Assigned Simulation, you will get information about when the assignment starts and stops and how many attempts you have remaining.

Once you have loaded into an environment, all of the information about the simulation and controls for the simulation are accessible from the menu. For more information about the current simulation, click on the **"AIA Controls"** button on the far left that looks like a robot.

You can review the information about the scenario by clicking through the **"About", "You", and "Counterpart"** tabs. The Environment tab simply shows you locations for the conversation.

To start the simulation, in the Menu bar select the **"AIA Controls"** button that looks like a robot, then click on the **"Start"** button that looks like a triangle. While in the middle of a conversation, you can use the **"Pause"** button to temporarily pause the conversation.

Not all simulations will start with the AI agent speaking. Sometimes you may need to say something yourself before the AI agent responds.

Once you have completed your conversation, you can click on the **"Stop"** button that looks like a square. This will finish the conversation. If this was an Assignment Simulation, this will use up one of your attempts.

For Assignment Simulations, the transcript and video will be automatically uploaded to our servers for your Course Admin to review. If you are in a practice session, a pop-up window will appear asking for permission to upload the transcript and video.

Uploading your transcript and video will enable us to provide you with an immediate feedback panel that runs the transcript of the conversation through an assessment rubric created by the simulation Author. This assessment will reference the transcript and occasionally offer suggestions of places to improve.

During the conversation you also have access to the chat transcript, which you can enable and disable using the button that looks like two chat bubbles overlaid on top of one another.
